Torque Release Technique Chiropractor in Lithia, FL

Looking for a Torque Release Technique chiropractor in Lithia or FishHawk? At Last Chiropractic offers Torque Release Technique, or TRT, at our office on Skytop Drive in Lithia, near FishHawk West.
TRT is an instrument-assisted chiropractic method. It uses a handheld instrument called the Integrator to deliver a brief, controlled impulse at a selected contact point, without rotational twisting.
At our office, the technique follows the evaluation, not the other way around. We consider your concerns, health history, examination findings, comfort and goals before recommending care.
If you prefer an adjustment without traditional manual twisting or cracking, TRT may be an option to discuss with your chiropractor.

What Is Torque Release Technique?
Torque Release Technique, often called TRT, is an instrument-assisted chiropractic method. It uses a handheld device called the Integrator to deliver a brief, targeted impulse to a selected area without rotational twisting.
TRT is one option among several chiropractic techniques. Your doctor chooses or modifies a technique based on your history, examination, age, bone health, previous procedures and comfort. No single technique is appropriate for every patient.
People commonly seek chiropractic care for back or neck discomfort, stiffness, mobility concerns and some types of headache. Chiropractic care is not appropriate for every condition and does not replace primary, emergency or specialty medical care when those services are needed.

The Integrator: How a TRT Adjustment Is Delivered
The Integrator is the handheld instrument used in Torque Release Technique. It delivers a brief, controlled mechanical impulse at a selected contact point. The chiropractor selects the instrument setting and contact based on the evaluation.
You may hear a click and feel a quick, localized impulse. The joint sound that can occur during some manual adjustments is not required and does not determine whether an adjustment was effective.

How a TRT Evaluation Works at Our Lithia Office
Your First Visit
Your first visit begins with a conversation about your health history, current concerns, previous care and goals. Your examination includes a postural and biomechanical assessment, along with relevant orthopedic and neurologic testing. Please plan for approximately 45–60 minutes.
X-Rays When Clinically Indicated
Imaging is recommended only when it is clinically indicated and is likely to affect your care. It is not automatically necessary for every patient. When imaging is recommended, your doctor explains why and reviews the findings with you.
Your Report of Findings
At a separate Report of Findings visit, we explain the examination results and discuss your options. If care is recommended, we explain the proposed approach, potential benefits, risks and alternatives. Treatment can begin at that visit if appropriate and agreed upon.

What a TRT Adjustment Feels Like
Torque Release Technique is a low-force, instrument-assisted approach with no rotational twisting. You may hear a click from the Integrator and feel a quick, localized impulse.
Before care begins, your doctor explains the proposed technique, expected sensations, reasonable alternatives and relevant risks, and answers your questions. You are welcome to share previous experiences and any concerns you have about chiropractic care.
After an Adjustment
Responses vary. Some people notice no immediate change. Others experience temporary soreness, stiffness, discomfort, tiredness or headache, often resolving within a day or two. A specific result cannot be predicted or guaranteed. Contact the office if a reaction is severe, persists or worsens.
If you begin care, we monitor your response and revisit recommendations as your needs change. Tell us what is improving and what still needs attention.
What the Research Says About Torque Release Technique
Early TRT research includes a randomized residential-treatment study that reported better program retention with TRT. That finding was published as a short abstract and does not establish TRT as a treatment for addiction or other unrelated medical conditions.

Broader research on spinal adjustment suggests modest benefits for some back and neck pain; those results are not specific to TRT.

This research cannot predict an individual result. Your doctor will explain what the evidence does and does not show for your situation.

Torque Release Technique FAQs
What does a Torque Release Technique chiropractor do?
A TRT chiropractor uses the Integrator, a handheld instrument, to deliver a brief, targeted impulse to a selected area without rotational twisting. At At Last Chiropractic in Lithia, Dr. Anthony Taylor and Dr. Carissa Taylor hold Advanced Proficiency Certification in Torque Release Technique.
Does TRT involve twisting, cracking or popping?
TRT does not involve rotational twisting. You may hear a click from the instrument and feel a quick, localized impulse. Depending on your findings, preferences and clinical needs, a doctor may recommend a different technique and will explain it before care.
What is the Integrator?
The Integrator is the handheld instrument used in Torque Release Technique. It delivers a brief, controlled mechanical impulse at a selected contact point, and the chiropractor selects the setting and contact based on your evaluation.
Is Torque Release Technique right for everyone?
No single technique is appropriate for every patient. Your doctor chooses or modifies a technique based on your history, examination, age, bone health, previous procedures and comfort.
Is Torque Release Technique safe?
Chiropractic care is generally well tolerated after appropriate screening, but no health-care procedure is risk-free. Temporary soreness, stiffness, discomfort, tiredness or headache can occur after spinal adjustment. Serious spinal, neurological or vascular complications have been reported and are considered rare, although their precise frequency is uncertain. We discuss potential benefits, risks and alternatives before care, and we recommend another level of care when chiropractic is not appropriate.
Will I need X-rays before a TRT adjustment?
Not automatically. Imaging is recommended only when it is clinically indicated and is likely to affect your care. When imaging is recommended, your doctor explains why and reviews the findings with you.
